Boeing's Fredrickson plant awarded for commuter options

Boeing’s Frederickson facility is the first worksite in Pierce County to receive national recognition for providing smart commute options to employees.

The Boeing Company’s Enterprise Commuter Services team has been awarded the national Best Workplaces for Commuters Award on behalf of the Boeing-Frederickson site. Boeing-Fredrickson is the first employer in Pierce County to achieve the “Best Workplaces for Commuters” status.

“The Pierce Trips team is proud to work with employers all around Pierce County to help provide alternative commute options for employees,” Pierce Trips representative Charmaine Riley said. “Boeing’s Best Workplaces designation is well deserved and we look forward to continuing to partner in the future.”

To receive national recognition, employers must provide their employees with a variety of options that will entice them to ride the bus or train, carpool, vanpool, bicycle or walk to work. These strategies may include HOV parking, ORCA Passport programs and/or vanpool and transit subsidies.   Pierce Trips, a team composed of representatives from Pierce Transit, Pierce County and the City of Tacoma, works with over 70 employers in Pierce County to provide smart commute resources to employees and community members.
