Aspiring student illustrator? Apply today for C.L.A.W. scholarship

The Tacoma-based Cartoonist’s League of Absurd Washingtonians (C.L.A.W.) has announced it is accepting applications for its “Young Cartoonist of the Future” scholarship, which has been awarded annually for the past three years to a student currently enrolled in an educational institution and aspiring to be a cartoonist or illustrator. The application, which is available online at http://www.cartoonistsleague.org/ , must be postmarked or electronically received no later than Tues., May 15, 2012. The scholarship recipient will be notified in July. The organization awarded $100 to Adam M. Botsford in 2009; $370 to Amelia Davis, an art student at Cogswell Polytechnical College in Sunnyvale, Calif., in 2010; and $908.24 to Kayla Nicole Cline, an art student at Memphis College of Art in Memphis, Tenn. This year, C.L.A.W. has so far raised $876.16 toward the scholarship.
