Workers were busy Monday afternoon installing a sign in preparation of downtown Tacoma’s new urban, full-service grocery store. In February, a Whidbey Island-based company called The Myers Group announced it would open Tacoma City Grocer IGA, a 16,000-square-foot grocery store in Pacific Plaza, located at 1250 Pacific Avenue. The company owns and operates grocery stores in Ocean Shores, on Camano Island, and in downtown Seattle. According to the company’s Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tacoma-City-Grocer-IGA/190756644312195 ), Tacoma City Grocer IGA is currently accepting employment applications and plans to open in September.
