8 nominees for Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber's annual enviro award

Eight local businesses have been nominated to receive the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber’s 14th Annual Tahoma Environmental Business Award for outstanding environmental awareness and efficiency.

The nominees include Cartridge World, Downtown on the Go!, Feed Commodities, Northwest Etch Technologies, Pacific Container Corporation, Point Ruston, Tacoma Public Utilities, and Tinkertopia.

Past recipients include NuStar Energy (2015), JL Darling (2014), Targa Sound Terminal (2013), Richlite Company (2012), Waste Connections (2011), Walsh Construction (2010), Carlile Transportation Systems (2009), Pacific Lutheran University (2008), Totem Ocean Trailer Express (2007), Port of Tacoma (2006), McFarland Cascade (2005), Simpson (2004), and Kay Parks/Dan Meyer Auto Rebuild (2003).

This year’s award recipient will be announced during a luncheon on Fri., April 8, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Pacific Grill Events Center, located at 1530 Pacific Ave., in Tacoma. In addition to the awards presentation, City of Tacoma officials will provide information about an effort to restrict the use of disposable plastic bags in Tacoma.

Admission is $25 for Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber members ($30 for non-members). Day-of-event walk-in admission is $30 for Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber members ($35 for non-members). Register online here.
